- First Open this link adfs.nku.edu.
- Enter your Username and Password in the field.
- Click on the ‘Sign in‘ button.
This sign-in service allows you to enter your NKU ID and password to access many resources in the NKU network.
Forgotten or Reset NKU Webmail Password
- Open this link password.nku.edu/forgotpassword.
- Enter your NKU Username in the field.
- Issue the the last four digits of your Social Security number, and either field.
- Enter your Alternate Email, or your Mobile Phone Number (Include area code No dashes), or the last eight digits of your ISO number (found on your student ID).
– Note: If you are using the phone or email options, you will then receive a code via text (SMS) or email which can be used to change your NKU password. The message and data rates may apply to text messages. - You can configure your mobile number or alternate email by selecting the Edit Password Recovery Information option.
- Then click on the ‘Validate‘ option.

- Click on Settings on your device.
- Then select on Passwords & Accounts.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap Add Account option.
- The next screen will provide a list of account types.
- Click Exchange.
- You will then be prompted to enter your email address, and a description for the account.
- You can enter something like NKU or NKUemail.
- A pop-up will appear asking you to sign in to your Exchange account using Microsoft.
- Click on the Sign In.
- You will then be redirected to the NKU Single Sign On page, with your email address pre-entered.
- Enter your password and tap Sign in.
- This will add your email account to your device.
- To access the settings, tap Settings, then Passwords & Accounts.
- You can also sync your calendar and contacts.

- This means that email older than 1 week will not show on your device.

- Open the Email app, and tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, then ‘Add Account’.

- Tap Exchange.
- You will then be redirected to the NKU Single Sign On page, with your email address pre-entered.
- Enter your password and click on the Sign in button.
- You will then be taken to the Device Administrator.
- You will need to allow the email app to remotely control certain security features on your device.
- Click Activate.
- This will add your email account on your device.
- You can edit the display name of your account in the Edit names section.
- You can enter something like NKU or NKU Email.
- To access email settings, tap Account Settings.
- You can also sync your calendar and contacts.
- Email sync period defaults to 3 days.
- This means that emails older than 3 days will not show on your device.
- You can increase or decrease this time frame by tapping this setting.

NKU owned devices
Microsoft Office products can be downloaded any time on an NKU owned machine by the user through Software Self Service.
Personal devices
Microsoft office 365 free to install on personal computers, as well as phones / tablets for NKU, faculty, staff and current students. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and more are available for offline and online use. The licenses terminate automatically if you leave the university. Office can be installed on up to five compatible Windows and Mac computers and / or tablets (including iPads).
Windows and Mac
- Go to NKUwebmail and use the ‘webmail login’ link to sign in to your account.
- Click the grid button in the upper-left corner.
- The apps panel will display and allow you to use various Office applications.
- Click Office 365 in the upper-right corner, which will display recent emails, files and other messages.
- Click the Install Office on the right side, then select Office 365 apps.
- This will download a file for installation.
- Windows users will get a pop-up window instructing them to the install office.
- Mac users will need to open the download file to install Office.
- The file will be named Microsoft Office installer.pkg, but this may vary slightly.
Smartphone/Tablet
- Download the Microsoft Office app for your Apple or Android device:

– Google Play - Select on the User icon in the top left.
- Click on the Sign in button.
- Enter your NKU email address in the email box.
- This will redirect you to the NKU Single Sign On page.
- Enter your password and you will be logged in to your NKU account, with access to all files stored in your OneDrive folders.
Import Content from another Canvas NKU Course
If you have an active course for choose Specific Content if you only want a few files as selecting All content can add a lot of extra information you do not want and can be cumbersome to remove.
- Go to the Settings area of your course, then click on Import Course Content.
- For content type choose Copy a Canvas Course and some additional options will appear.
- Next to Search for a course start typing in the course ID of the course that has the content you would like and it should appear for you to choose.
- For content you can decide whether you choose by selecting all the items in that content, or just by selecting specific items like quizzes or files.
- You should only choose All Content when your course is blank and you want to have content to edit that is similar to that course. After that hit Import.
- A progress bar will appear at the bottom, when finished choose Select Content.
- You should now see everything that is inside that course.
- If you want everything from a particular section like files, modules or quizzes, you can check the checkboxes next to it.
- If you want individual files or quizzes and not all of them hit the arrow next to the group and the file list will appear, check the ones you want and then hit Select Content when finished.
NKU Email Signature Authorization Form Instructions
Instructions for completing the signature authorization form below:
- The date when the form was filled out.
- The complete name of the Agency.
- And the Agency Account Number (2980xxxxx) (Assigned by Office of the Comptroller).
- The signature of the person who will sign the parked vendor invoices with their title, campus phone, address and email address, this person is usually the agency treasurer or president.
- An additional person who may also sign the Requests for Checks.
- Their campus phone, address and email address with the signature of the faculty sponsor.
This form must be on file in the Office of the Comptroller before any requests for checks will be approved. If office or advisors change, a new signature authorization form must be filled out.

NKU (Northern Kentucky University) is a public university in Highland Heights, Kentucky from United States.
