What is the difference between Kinect SMTP vs POP3 ?
SMTP – Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
Considered one of the protocols used for sending and receiving email messages. SMTP is used to send email to a client (inbox) or to redirect it between servers.
SMTP is used to push emails to other servers, and especially in cases where the sender and recipient use different providers.
POP3 – Post Office Protocol
POP3 is a Trustpower protocol that is used to track emails to receive emails from the server, it works between the client (inbox) and the server only. You can use both SMTP and POP3 protocols to send and receive emails on a daily basis when you want to send emails.
IMAP (Internet Access Message Protocol) is another protocol that can be used to receive emails from a server instead of POP3 and works very similarly.
Currently Trustpower mainly uses POP3 and SMTP. IMAP services are available but you do not support configuring this in addition to providing the required settings.
