How to create a Fasthosts custom email address?
The email address you use to communicate online with businesses is different from the personal addresses you use – such as sales@fasthosts.co.uk. The reality is, personal, business email addresses are not something reserved for businesses. Below is a guide for anyone setting up their own custom email address and instantly accessing more information on the web.
First Get a domain
The domain you choose will depend on what you want to use for it. If you want to start a business, you should choose a business brand name or a domain name to reflect the industry. The part of the domain after the dot is called the domain extension or top-level domain (TLD).
The most popular and recognizable domain extension is .com, so if you want to make your business available globally, it is advisable to protect your company name .com domain name. But if your business is more global, there are plenty of other options for optional extensions, including:
- .net – great for networking or IT businesses
- .co – used by a lot of tech startups
- .shop – perfect for ecommerce businesses
For a professional who wants to represent themselves to potential employers, a personal email address will help you do just that. Nothing is stopping you from registering a .com email, but why not go into more detail?
- – A .name domain is designed specifically for individuals to register their name as a domain. This extension is perfect if you want to introduce yourself online.
- – A .me extension is another popular choice for individual domains. It is a little more than a name, and it clearly shows what it represents.
Choose an email provider
Once you have registered your domain, you will need to find an email provider that uses a personal email address. These options are always paid for, but with services like our standard email packages starting at just £0.99 per month, the cost is negligible for the cost of having a personal, business email address.
There are other benefits to using a paid email provider on a free mail site like Gmail. If you are using a paid service, you will not be on platforms like platforms, spammers and malicious users. This can help prevent emails lost in the spam folders of clients or their colleagues.

info@yourdomain.com – This does what it says on teen, and can be a great way for people to get information about you. It is also a good address to send email, as it will add a level of reliability to the information you are sending.
biz@yourdomain.com – This is a great domain for discussing jobs, business or other business opportunities.
