- If you have already created your AU email account in the Mail application on your phone / tablet, you need to delete it (iOS, Android, Windows Phone).
- Fill in this information on your computer:
– Log in to your email in the browser at https://outlook.aber.ac.uk.
– Click on the profile icon in the top-right and go to the My Account option.
– Touch security information on the left.
– Click on Add Method option.
– Choose application password.
– Name it and click Add.
– Your password will be generated.
– Keep the password open on your screen. - You will have to wait 10 minutes for this password to work, then you can enter it on your phone.
- Once entered on your phone it will be saved and you will not need to re-enter it.
– You note that you can’t retrieve the password from this page, you can just delete it and create a new one. - Re-add your email account to the Mail app on your phone, but use your new app password instead of your regular password.

- Open your Outlook 2011.
- Click the tools that appear at the top of the screen, and then click Accounts option (tools, window, help option).
- Click the + sign below the left-hand column and click the Exchange option (exchange, email, directory service).
- Fill in the information displayed on the following screen in full:
– E-mail Address: enter your full University E-mail Address (With the @aber.ac.uk).
– Method: choose your user name and password.
– User Name: enter your full University E-mail Address (With the @aber.ac.uk).
– Password: choose your University Password.
– Untick: tick configure automatically.
– Server: outlook.office365.com. - Click Add Account button.
- Your account should now appear in the left hand column, then close the Accounts window.
- If any popup boxes appear, tick the Always use my response for this server checkbox.
- And click on the ‘Allow‘ option.
How To check email through my email handler (Other Clients)?
Office365 will remove support for this method for you later in 2021. From this date, IMAP connections can only be made possible using OAUTH2 as an authentication method.
- Find and click the option to create a ‘new account’ in your mail client.
- Choose you use the account type IMAP.
- The incoming Mail server has to be set up in outlook.office365.com using port 993 (SSL).
- An outgoing mail server must be set up at smtp.office365.com using port 587 (TLS).
- Enter your username and password, which is your university email address and password.
How to include full Headers when Forwarding an Email?

Webmail
- First Log on to webmail.
- Double-click on the email message.
- Click on the downward arrow icon next to ‘Reply to all’ option.
- Then click View Message Details.
- Publish all content of the message details box.
- Right click inside the box.
- Copy the published text.
- Click Close button.
- Click Next button.
- Right click in the text box.
- Select paste to include full headers.
- Forward the message.
Outlook
- First Open your Outlook.
- Double click on the message.
- Choose your file.
- Click Properties.
- Headers will appear in the Internet header box.
- Right click in the internet headers.
- Click ‘Select All’ option.
- Right click on the highlighted information.
- Click on Copy.
- Click Close to return to your message.

- Right-click in the message field at the top of the message.
- Paste the header into the message.

- Double-click on the message you want to send.

Import and Export Blackboard testing from one module to another

To reuse queries from one blackboard module to another, you must export a test, survey, or pool from the original module and then import it into another module.
Export
Exporting a test, survey or pool creates a .zip file that can be emailed to other staff or even imported into other modules.
To export your item:
- First go to Control Panel, Course Tools and Tests, Surveys and Pools.
- Select whether it is a test, survey or pool that you want to export.
- Click the arrow next to the item you want to export and select the Export option.
- This will save the .zip file in the downloads area of your computer. You do not need to unzip the file.
- Once you have exported the pool, you can import it into another module or give it to another member of staff for use in the blackboard.
Import
To import a test, survey, or pool into another module:
- You have to go to the module you want to import.
- From the Control Panel, click Course Tools and Tests, Surveys and Pools.
- Select the option you want to test, survey or pool that you are importing.
- Click Import Test.
- Browse to the file you see in the standard upload window, select it, and click Open.
- Click Submit button.
- The blackboard will give you a ‘Success’ receipt for this action and click OK button.
- You can now deploy a test or survey in the field of content or use questions to create a new pool, test or survey.
Export rules in Microsoft Outlook
- You can export your rules using Microsoft Outlook to create backups.
- If you receive an error message while trying to export, you have no rules for exporting.
- Go to your Home tab.
- Click on Rules and then Manage Rules and Alerts.
- And click Options.
- Click Import Rules.
- If you get an error message here, you have no rules that need to be exported.
- Find the file, select it and click Open.
